Course Description

Start: Our run/walk will begin in the same open field as last year (you can use the Lasdon sign on the adjacent walking path as a reference), across the driveway and into the entrance to Yellow Trail.  There will be one very small, rocky stream to cross over, so please be careful with your footing (you’re running trails so pick your feet up and lift those knees!). Continue to the 2nd right on the Yellow Trail and follow this to the Red Trail.
Red Trail:  A smaller trail with a nice downhill (notice the gazebo at the bottom left). The original owners of Lasdon, the Voislawsky family, used to hold picnics here in the early 1900’s.  This will bring you out to the  paved Veteran’s Memorial section.  Make a left.
Veteran’s Memorial: This winding, uphill path is The Trail of Honor and brings you up to the Korean Veteran’s Memorial and back down to exit under the flags (Mile 1).  Make a left out of the Memorial and onto a portion of the parking lot.  Enter the Arboretum at the gated entry and make a left.  This path will take you behind Lasdon House.
Ted’s Grind:  This is a short, but steep, hill named in honor of Lasdon’s Manager.  Ted “surprised” us with this little gem last year and we’ve kept it in.  Hint:  Use the roots as “steps” to help you up.  Follow this trail behind Lasdon House and enter the Arboretum.
Arboretum:  Make a right onto the Arboretum pathway.  Turn left and pass the Lasdon Fountain on your right and turn right onto the grass.  Turn left to get back onto the Arboretum Path.  This downhill will take you past the most fragrant part of our race, the Lilac Path.  The lilacs will be blooming on race day so breathe it in! Make left up the driveway and right onto the grass.  Make right onto path, bearing left at the intersection for a very nice downhill to the Blue Trail.
Blue Trail/Lasdon Lake: Glide downhill and pass under the Asian inspired archway (Mile 2) and enter the Blue Trail.  The trail is a loop so please stay to your left since you will be sharing part of the trail with runners ahead of you.  This will be a great place to high five any friends exiting on your right.  Make a left out of the Blue Trail and you’re on Lasdon Lake Path.  Follow this to the archway hidden among bamboo.  Make a left and head towards the paved driveway.  Make a right on driveway.
Final Stretch:  Follow driveway up to covered sign and make a right.  One last uphill and it’s all downhill and flat from here.  Cross the bridge (Mile 3) (which will be mudless this year:  Thank you Paul and Ted!) and finish your run in the open field.
